La Jetée (1962)
What better way to launch Cult Cafe Seattle than with my favorite film!

A man with strong memories of the past is recruited by a group of scientists determined to save humanity's future. Chris Marker tells this tale with a narrated slideshow of still photos. La Jetée is the film that inspired 12 Monkeys.

Electronic Labyrinth: THX-1138 4EB (1967)

A man attempts to escape from the monotonous life he's trapped in. Electronic Labyrinth was made into a feature film (1971) and was the launching point into George Lucas's film career.

The American Astronaut (2001)

Cory McAbee's musical space-western. "Samuel Curtis, an interplanetary trader, sets forth through a rustic and remote solar system, unaware that his old friend Professor Hess is trying to kill him."

Features a wonderful soundtrack by McAbee's band The Billy Nayer Show.
